Case study · Northstar Vocational

A specialist service made warm, credible and easy to refer.

Northstar Vocational needed to speak clearly to professional referral sources while still feeling supportive to the people navigating a return to work. The identity, message and website were built as one connected system.

01

The challenge: serve two audiences without sounding divided.

Insurers and other professionals need to understand when a referral is appropriate, what support is available and how the process contributes to realistic return-to-work outcomes. The person being referred needs to feel that the service is practical, respectful and genuinely invested in their next step.

The brand had to carry professional credibility without becoming clinical or impersonal.

02

The approach: clear direction with a human centre.

A compass and path-inspired identity gave Northstar a recognizable visual idea. Warm terracotta, grounded neutrals and straightforward language softened the professional structure without weakening it.

  • Referral-focused page structure
  • Outcome-oriented service language
  • Northstar compass identity
  • Warm professional colour system
  • Responsive one-page website
  • Clear referral calls to action
03

The result: a clearer route from interest to referral.

The finished website helps professional visitors quickly understand who Northstar supports, when to refer and what makes the service distinct. At the same time, the visual tone keeps the experience approachable for people making a difficult career transition.

Nothing depends on invented claims or oversized promises. The credibility comes from useful information, coherent design and a clear understanding of the audience.
